GSL Properties, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Leasing Associate. This position is located at our Union Station Apartment community in Portland, Oregon. Union Station is a multifamily community that consists of 457 units. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic team of experienced professionals. In this position you will be a major contributor to the overall success of Community.
This position is responsible for assisting the Community Manager and Assistant Manager in maintaining all phases of community operations with an emphasis on leasing and completion of appropriate documentation by performing the following duties.
Day to Day Tasks/Responsibilities:
Maintains awareness of property performance goals and progress toward those goals, including occupancy and leasing
Conducts tours of community/apartments and executes lease agreements for prospective residents
Minimizes vacancy, delinquency, bad debts, and any other rent related losses, including collecting rent and delinquent accounts
Develops knowledge of and keeps current on Fair Housing regulations
Prepares lease agreements and other documentation
Coordinates move-in dates, materials, and processes
Develops marketing strategies to generate traffic, maximize rents, and retain quality residents
Creates, develops, and maintains wait list
Performs general office/clerical procedures
Follows up with prospective residents on questions, paperwork, etc.
Collaborates with Maintenance staff on work orders
Tours property daily and ensures vacant units are tidy, attractive and in good repair
Characteristics:

Provides excellent customer service to prospects, residents, staff members and vendors
Handles adverse situations and remains calm in stressful situations
Self-Motivated, collaborative team player
Strong administrative, organizational and problem solving skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED is required
Effective sales/closing skills
Excellent customer service required
Previous experience in leasing and Section 42/LIHTC, preferred
Strong communication and computer skills
Accuracy and attention to detail in the preparation of paperwork
Excellent verbal communication skills, both oral and written
