IntroGeneral Security Services Corporation (GSSC) DBA Midwest Patrol is seeking to fill immediate Full and Part Time Specialized Security Professional positions. Since 1946 GSSC has been committed to keeping our community safe. Our company provides trained Security Officers/Professionals to enhance the security programs for our clients while leveraging the latest technologies in electronics. The Specialized Security Professional positions are an elite group that provide a variety of services related to access control, monitoring camera/alarm systems, emergency response, and roving patrols. Working directly with the Duluth Transit Authority and additional security teams provides a fast paced environment ensuring safe travels and safe/secure environment for all customers, employees, and guests. Applicants must have strong customer relation skills and professional communication skills. These positions require interaction with a large diverse set of individuals throughout the shift(s). The Duluth Transit Authority and its partners are intent to ensure a safe public transit system for all users and employees. Fully Paid advanced training includes Tactical Communication, Mandatory Pre-Assignment Training, American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED, Defensive Tactics, Expandable Baton, Oleo Resin Capsicum (OC) spray, Handcuffing. All necessary equipment is available to all Armed Airport Professionals upon completion of required training listed. Hours

Specialized Security Professionals Job ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the job responsibilities.
Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel.
Patrols assigned site on foot; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
Enforces required security regulations and procedures pursuant to Post Orders and or the Facility Security Plan pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
Responds to client inquiries in an expeditious manner.
Monitors CCTV and alarm systems and provides appropriate response where applicable
Ensures all CCTV and alarm systems are functional where applicable.
Reacts appropriately, promptly and in accordance with Post Orders in emergency situations.
Generates clear and concise written reports of shift activities.
Maintains safe driving practices and vehicle care procedures as required.
Creates a positive working environment and strong teamwork.
Ensures compliance with all GSSC policies and procedures, federal regulations, state statutes, and specifications per client contracts.
Interacts professionally and engages with client personnel, vendors, contractors and members of the public.
Provides excellent customer service
Must be able to interact / interface with a largely diverse population utilizing the Transit Authority services and surrounding areas as well.

Specialized Security Professional Minimum Qualifications
Must have at least 1 year of certifiable previous armed experience (i.e. Law Enforcement, Military, Armed Patrol, or Armed Security experience)
Must have a High school diploma or equivalent
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be able to read, write and speak English
A US Citizen or Alien lawfully authorized to work in the United States
Must pass State & Federal background checks and drug screen
Must successfully pass required training certification programs
Ability to meet and maintain applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements
Excellent communication (verbal and written), administrative, customer service and organizational skills
Basic computer skills
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking
Ability to project a professional and positive attitude while maintaining confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
Valid driver’s license and clear driving record
1 or more years of experience in the security, law enforcement, or military industries
Military, Veteran, Law Enforcement, Corrections or Security related experience
MN Post Eligible or equivalent
