GTS Technology Solutions is Hiring a Payroll and Benefits Specialist Near Austin, TX

The Payroll and Benefits Specialist will be responsible for assisting HR and Accounting with employee record-keeping, and full ownership of benefits and payroll processing, to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department.

The ability to work autonomously and efficiently is critical to the success of this partner. The ideal candidate desires to be of service to people, has a strong working knowledge of HRIS systems (Paylocity knowledge is preferred) and wants to contribute toward the attainment of goals and results of the HR department.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· None

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including collecting timesheets, calculating wages, and processing payroll on a bi-weekly/monthly basis.

· Ensure accuracy in payroll processing, including deductions, overtime, bonuses, and commissions.

· Assist with payroll aspects of onboarding and offboarding.

· Address any payroll discrepancies and resolve employee payroll concerns in a timely manner.

· Reconcile and ensure timely payment of all employee benefit invoices.

· Respond to request for Certificate of Insurance from internal and external sources.

· Reply to requests for verification of employment.

· Prepare all payroll journal entries.

· Prepare Guardian and BCBS journal entries.

· Prepare Payroll Accrual Journal entries.

· Prepare Voya Journal entries.

· Reconcile Payroll Bank Account.

· Prepare any additional Journal entries as required by management and accounting purposes.

· Assist in implementing and maintaining Spiff platform, related to commissions.

· Liaise with benefit providers and vendors to resolve issues and ensure smooth administration of benefits programs.

· Keep abreast of changes in benefit regulations and ensure compliance with applicable laws.

· Assist with open enrollment as needed.

· Assist with annual business insurance renewal process.

· Maintain accurate payroll and benefits records, including employee information, earnings, deductions, and taxes.

· Generate payroll reports as needed for management and accounting purposes.

· Maintain state tax accounts for all payroll states.

· Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll regulations and compliance requirements.

· Conduct periodic audits of payroll and benefits records to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

· Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll and benefits.

· Provide guidance and support to employees on payroll and benefits matters, including assisting with payroll-related forms and documents.

· Assist with state and federal mandatory reporting requirements.

· Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of employee files and records.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Must be proficient with HRIS systems.

· Must have experience with processing payroll and benefit administration.

· Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment and be a self-starter who works with integrity while also being a strong business partner (aka: team player)

· In-depth knowledge of labor legislation and regulations with the ability to stay up-to-date on changing laws to make informed and recommended practices.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Ability to troubleshoot, identify improvements and make simple decisions independently.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote

· Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.

Education and Experience:

· Associate’s degree in related field preferred

· 3 years of experience in the Human Resources field

· 3 years of experience in Payroll

· 3 years of experience in Benefits Administration

· 5 years of experience in Excel and Word

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

· Will require travel to other GTS locations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
