Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to provide care within his/her scope of practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, regulations, institutional policy, and practice agreements.
Scope of Responsibility
The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant functions as an independent healthcare provider who, working collaboratively within the OB-GYN service line, he/she is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patient with conditions in a clinical setting that includes telehealth medicine. He/she demonstrates a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients to assess, diagnose and treat the health care needs of women throughout their lifespans. He/she is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion and care coordination for patients and families with women’s health needs. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant demonstrates an advanced level of medial clinical knowledge, communication and interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism, and system-based practice. He/she works with administrative, nursing, and physicians to assure safe, effective, and quality patient care.
