The Opportunity

We are seeking an Accountant to join our rapidly growing team. As an Accountant, you are responsible for assisting with both accounting and operations job functions in support of Guaranteed Rate Insurance. These duties will include handling tasks, process & procedures, and other general responsibilities both specific to Guaranteed Rate and Guaranteed Rate Insurance. This role will report to the Director of Finance - Insurance.

Responsibilities

Accounting

• Assisting with GR accounting processes and procedures within Insurance
• Involved in Agency bill processes for Commercial Department (account billing, payments, and reporting)
• Entry/ Vouchering of invoices in Loan Vision
• Reconciliation of credit card receipts in Concur
• Updating monthly schedules (Tracking broker fees, Partnership payments)
• Organize Vendor Invoices and Contracts
• Assist Director of Finance in various ad hoc projects

Operations

• Commission reconciliations – validations of monthly reports to the ledger – downloads and manually entries/imports
• Assist in monthly audit of commissions paid to agents
• Additional month end tasks related to commissions (Motor Vehicle Reporting (MVR) Audit, preparing agent statements, resolving discrepancies)
• AMS(agency management system) daily maintenance & handling of suspended items
• Updating various systems to aid in reporting (new loan officers, terms)
• Independently or collaboratively handle various ad hoc projects

Qualifications

· BS/BA Accounting Degree- 1 to 3 years accounting experience

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, strong Excel skills

· Experience with insurance accounting, Applied Epic, and Salesforce a plus

· Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office products and accounting software

Hybrid Role: Required to be in office 1 /week. Office located in Chicago, IL (3940 N. Ravenswood Ave. Chicago, IL 60613)
