What will you do as a Business Office Manager
  • Assure compliance with all internal financial policy & procedure using the Business Office Resource Manual, Federal/State laws and regulations; manage accounts receivable/payable, census, ancillary billing, and petty cash.
  • Develop specific plans for the operation of the business office, delegate work to staff consistent with their ability, train office staff, and establish good working relationships with all departments. Establish sound priorities in task accomplishments, act decisively when progress on the job is delayed, and meet established schedules and deadlines.
  • Understand, comply with, and promote all rules regarding residents' rights, promote positive relationships with residents, families, visitors, and regulators, to include presenting a professional appearance.
  • Attend Medicare and admissions meetings to assist with evaluating financial status of prospective admission, review Medicare eligibility (Medicare Advantage), and understand the process for proper Medicare Notices of Non-coverage for the right to a QIO Expedited Review or Demand Bill process.
  • Assist Social Services as needed in the Medicaid eligibility/application process.
  • Complete, maintain and communicate accurate census reports; reconcile daily while tracking/verifying on admission tracker and other CBO reports to resolve discrepancies per established guidelines; submit information and reports timely to CBO vendors.
  • Evaluate and monitor days sales outstanding within established guidelines; assist corporate collection personnel in pursuing past due accounts persistently and maintain proper back-up documentation; discuss all collection problems reviewing AR Aging reports with Administrator as needed and resolve within established time frames; take action to prevent accounts from becoming past due.
  • Maintain MA 401 log for UMR review for all admissions.
  • Review completed admission packets for completeness and accuracy.
  • Enter information from admission packet into billing system accurately.
  • Enter and print MDS face sheets for distribution to RNAC.
  • Enter ICD9 codes into billing and clinical systems once received from RNAC.
What you need as a Business Office ManagerMedicare/Medicaid Billing Experience PreferredOffice Experience in a Long-Term Care Facility STRONGLY preferred
