Guardian Life is Hiring a Sr Workday Config Specialist - Payroll and Total Rewards Near Holmdel, NJ
Do you want to be part of a collaborative HR Technology team? If so, Guardian is seeking a Specialist to support and enhance Workday Total Rewards - Compensation, Benefits, and other modules, while working as part of the team responsible for providing technology to the Human Resources department. You Are: As a Sr. Workday Configuration Specialist, you will work closely with the business areas to define and deliver HR technology strategy and will be involved in a range of other HR transformational projects including HR technology process redesign/standardization, and merger and integration support. You will lead at least two or more of Workday’s modules comprised of Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Core HCM, Talent/Performance, Payroll, Time and Attendance, and/or Security. For each of the Workday modules that you oversee, you will be accountable for all of the following:
Developing a trusted advisor relationship with business contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects
Serving as primary, daily contact to business owners on delivery of services
Ensuring delivery of high-quality services and products to HR business
Design and build Workday solutions in US Payroll and Total Rewards space (Compensation and Benefits)
Partner with the Payroll processing team on any US payroll related needs.
Perform Impact analysis with clear outcomes and get alignment from all parties involved
Building relationships internally and collaborating effectively on cross-functional teams
Demonstrating natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
In addition, there will be specific regular events and strategic/operational projects that correlate to each individual Workday module which you will manage and/or support. For these types of activities, you will be responsible for:
Setting up and using project management processes/systems for work stream (includes planning the life cycle of the project, identifying key project activities and milestones, etc)
Gathering requirements
Leading configuration design sessions
Developing product configuration based on best practices and performing unit testing
Creating/Managing the testing strategy while collaborating with QA testing team and UAT testers
Partnering with User Enablement/HR Communications to update training and other delivery tools
You Have:
Minimum seven years of experience supporting enterprise HR applications
Five or more years of demonstrated expert-level proficiency in Payroll and Total Rewards – Compensation, Benefits.
Expert knowledge and hands on experience of Workday Compensation and Benefits configuration and integration required
Understanding of Workday Compensation, Benefits plans and setup, annual benefits enrollment, annual compensation review cycles, promotions and other processes.
Ability to enhance the Total Rewards modules with new setup, new functionality for all kinds of business needs.
Ability to support US Payroll with the following - troubleshooting and resolving issues, new earning/deductions configuration, any other payroll configuration /setup needs, investigating pay data, discrepancies, understanding the impact on downstream systems like GL , banks, vendors etc.
Workday Report Writer a plus
Understanding of Workday data, data flow between modules and integrations to other systems
Expert-level proficiency with MS Excel
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Ability to drive discussions to closure, aligning cross functional groups with an accountability attitude
Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail; keen ability to multi-task and prioritize work deliverables as needs evolve
Demonstrated ability to manage complex cross-functional technical project deliverables.
Demonstrated understanding of the concepts of HR service delivery, to partner effectively with business COEs
Bachelor’s Degree required

2 Days a week at a Guardian office in Holmdel, NJ, Bethlehem, PA, or New York NY.
Salary Range$91,260.00 - $149,925.00 The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate.
