Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Individual Virtual Therapist is responsible for performing clinical client care. The Individual Virtual Therapist will provide individual and group therapy as ordered by the Adult Clinical Lead. The Individual Virtual Therapist collaborates with the Treatment Team in the formulation of the Master Treatment Plan.

Qualifications


POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or health-related field required

EXPERIENCE:
Preferably a minimum of 2 years’ experience with diagnoses clients in an outpatient setting.

Must have two years of sobriety prior to hire, if recovering from a substance use disorder and participate in a self-help program.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Licensed by the State in specialization preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE:

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of the discipline.

    • Federal and State Regulations.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding:

    • Corporate Integrity & Compliance

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION

  1. Demonstrates knowledge of mental health disorders, trauma, chemical dependency, and addictions and utilizes knowledge and skills to access and meet the client’s treatment needs and requirements.
  2. Completes timely and accurate documentation on a daily basis.
  3. Conducts process groups for clients and other groups as assigned.
  4. Ability to work as a team member, displaying maturity and objectivity under stress.
  5. Demonstrates excellent communication skills.
  6. Performs in a professional manner and models positive coping skills.
  7. Reports abuse of clients’ rights immediately.
  8. Participates in obtaining the client’s informed consent for procedures, treatments, and release of information, as appropriate.
  9. Acts decisively and effectively in managing staff and clients during emergency situation.
  10. Actively participates in Interdisciplinary Treatment Plan meetings.
  11. Shares pertinent information with team as needed.
  12. Evaluates the impact of therapeutic interventions upon the milieu.
  13. Performs individual therapy with client/family.
  14. Documents the assessment of client progress/regress and interventions provided in the medical record.
  15. Recognizes, responds to, and assists in crisis situations and provides intervention as necessary.
  16. Attends and participates in staff meetings as scheduled.
  17. Adheres to policies and procedures.
  18. Protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with the program’s privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a health care provider. Failure to comply with policies and procedures on patient privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
  19. May access protected health information (PHI) and other patent information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties. The incumbent may only share such information with those who have a need-to-know specific patient information you have in your possession to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment, or other program operations.
  20. Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding the program’s policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.
  21. Performs other capacities as needed.
