The IT Administrator is responsible for most aspects of the information technology management and controls, recommendations for technical acquisitions and adherence to guidelines, standards, and procedures. This position is charged with strategic planning, directed action, and operational decision-making to efficiently fulfill the mission of the IT department. All activities must support Guardian Security’s strategic goals, corporate objectives and functional daily operation. Guardian Security Systems, Inc. operates a 24/7 security monitoring and dispatch center located in Anchorage as well as a statewide proprietary radio mesh network.
The IT Administrator is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and upgrading Guardian Security’s software and hardware as needed. The IT Administrator works with Guardian Security’s Senior Management to develop, support, and implement procedures to both maintain and improve system performance. This can include developing new processes, identifying problems with existing systems and developing fixes to those problems.
The IT Administrator will be expected to maintain and support all systems 24/7, through a combination of vendor and local IT support and maybe be expected to travel occasionally to support Guardian’s infrastructure at other locations.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Proof of Adequate Information Technology training, which may include a degree or five to ten years combination of verifiable information technology experience and education.
EXPERIENCE
Must have experience with local and wide area networks and integrated software programs. Demonstrated experience managing 15 or more physical or virtual servers simultaneously
