The Business Development Manager will work with the General Manager to improve the organization’s market position and achieve financial growth by locating and developing new business relationships. The ideal candidate will be personable, out-going, and adaptable.
- Prospect for new clients using various direct methods such as calling, advertising, face-to-face meetings, and indirect methods such as networking
- Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging a business network
- Plan and employ persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with the company by developing proposals that meet the clients’ needs, concerns, and objectives
- Develop rapport with new clients, set targets for sales and provide support that will continually improve the relationship
- Retain existing clients by understanding their experience and needs and presenting new solutions
- Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and work through differences to a positive conclusion using a variety of persuasion and negotiation skills appropriately
- Present a professional image of the company to potential and current clients
- Work with internal colleagues to develop proposals
- Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and trends
- Maintain sales contacts in Company CRM database and ensure data is accurate
- Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet goals
