Guerdon is Hiring a Cost Estimator Near Boise, ID
Summary: Guerdon is seeking a talented Cost Estimator to join our team. Our ideal candidates will possess prior estimating or costing experience in the commercial/residential construction field. Excellent communication skills, a high level of organization, and strong attention to details are essential. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and documents, understand product specifications, and engage with project team leaders on a daily basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Determine project specifications by working with our business development team.
- Interface with internal departments to understand current specifications, assemblies, and construction methods.
- Develop cost and scope models for the project.
- Work with vendors and manufacturer representatives for project quotes.
- Maintain project costing files.
- Interact with developers and architects during project pre-construction.
- Utilize Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, and NetSuite among others.
Minimum Requirements
- Post-Secondary education in Business, Finance, Marketing, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Prior experience in construction estimating preferred.
- Working knowledge of the residential and commercial construction industry.
- Maturity, confidence, and ability to gain the respect and trust of customers and subcontractors.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism.
Physical Requirements
- While performing this job's duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and reach, stoop kneel.
- Light to moderate lifting is required.
- Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
- Ability to work in shared space.
