Guidepost DBT is Hiring a Licensed Mental Health Therapist Near Corte Madera, CA

Guidepost DBT is seeking full-time and part-time Licensed Mental Health Therapists (PhD, PsyD, MFT, MFC, and LCSW) with expertise in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) who are licensed to practice in the State of California to join our growing team!

Candidates must be licensed in the state of California and must be able to commute to our office in Corte Madera, California on a regular basis. Candidates who have completed Linehan DBT Foundational training will be given strong preference.

Our center provides adherent individual DBT therapy, DBT skills groups, and couples therapy in a private practice setting. About You

Licensed Therapist Job Duties

Candidates must have or be willing to complete Foundational DBT Training and Level I RO DBT training within their first six months at the center. Job responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a caseload providing individual sessions (part-time minimum caseload is 15 individual session hours per week)
  • Contributing in leading and/or co-leading skills group (part-time minimum is at least 1 group per week)
  • Attending quarterly staff trainings
  • Availability to work a minimum of 3 evenings (5:00-8:00pm) per week
  • Maintaining electronic client records
  • Collaborating with administrative staff to support marketing and billing objectives
  • Attending weekly consultation team meetings
  • Experience using clinical care management software (i.e. Simple Practice)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams

Skills:

  • You must hold a valid and current license to practice as a mental health professional in the state of California.
  • You must hold valid and current malpractice insurance as a mental health professional in the state of California.
  • Completion of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Foundations from Behavioral Tech Institute or another equivalent provider is strongly preferred. Candidates with specialized DBT training and certification will be given strong consideration. If you have not completed DBT Foundational training but you are interested in becoming a DBT provider, you are still encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise with a minimum of 1 year of experience in providing therapy services. Prior experience with DBT is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and formulating treatment plans tailored to individual client needs, using DBT as the primary therapeutic approach.
  • Strong skills in providing both individual and group therapy using DBT methods, including the ability to lead and facilitate group sessions effectively.
  • Competency in managing crisis situations and utilizing crisis intervention strategies as an integral part of DBT therapy.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate and confidential client records, complying with all legal and ethical documentation requirements, and using electronic health records systems.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in DBT and related therapeutic modalities.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with other mental health professionals, such as psychiatrists, nurses, and case managers, to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for clients.
  • Willingness to seek supervision and consultation as needed, particularly for complex cases.

Compensation:

Compensation is calculated based on level of DBT specialized training/licensing, years of experience as a licensed mental health practitioner, caseload, and performance. Licensed therapists with DBT specialized training make between $85 and $175 for billable hours (i.e. individual sessions, groups, etc.). Non-billable hours are paid at a rate of $20 per hour (i.e. admin time).
