Description

Gulf Coast Utility Contractors is currently accepting applications for the position of Construction Superintendent for its Panama City, Florida office. Candidate MUST BE EXPERIENCED in all aspects of site work and oversee multiple projects at one time. Competitive salary and benefits available. References will be required.

Qualifications:

• Be able to communicate effectively with crews, project managers, general contractors, supervisors, and city inspectors.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and provide an end product that meets the intent of the plans and specifications.
• Ability to operate all standard heavy equipment, road grader, dozier, off road trucks, skid steer, excavators, etc. a plus.
• Must be able to comprehend and identify the difference between contract work and change order work. Turn in all approved documents required to general manager.
• Ability to adhere to job schedules. This includes forecasting, planning crew activities, and proactively requesting materials/equipment accordingly.
• Maintain a safe working environment all times for crew members. Follow all company and job safety requirements. Inspect equipment and construction sites daily to verify all safety specs are met. Conduct safety meetings as required for crew members.
• Track employee time, report any personnel and safety issues.
• Promote a team-like environment for crew members.
• Take measurements off blueprints; figure and shoot grade/elevations for construction requirements.
• Knowledge of GPS equipment.

Requirements

* Experience in underground utility installation (water, sewer and storm drain)

* Experience in all aspects of site work.

* Experience in constructing parking lots and roadways.

* Must have a minimum of 5 year’s verifiable experience as a foreman/superintendent.

* Must have strong coordination, time management, active listening, communication, critical thinking and reasoning skills.

* Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record for minimum of 3 years.

* Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

* Must be able to work a minimum of 5 days per week and Saturdays if required.

* Possess or Acquire Advanced MOT Certification.

Experience:

• Foreman/Superintendent: 5 years (Required) and verifiable.
• OSHA 30
