BASIC FUNCTION
Under the supervision of the specialty clinic manager, registered nurse, providers, and in accordance with hospital policies, is responsible for patient care duties, including assisting providers with procedures and patient rooming guidelines are followed for meaningful use.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Checking patients into patient rooms, obtaining vital signs, medication lists, patient allergies, patient complaints and concerns as needed following quality measures requirements and meaningful use requirements. Patient population consists of male and female, neonates, pediatrics, adults and geriatrics. Also responsible for office clerical duties including maintaining and obtaining medical records and following HIPAA standards. Performs SQ and IM injections and appropriate documentation and safety of administration.
Available to help with exams as needed per provider.
Obtains and Maintains patient medical records.
Maintains knowledge with equipment and instruments used in daily tasks:

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Learning:
Required
Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program
Participates in continuing education and in-service programs
Practices within scope of training and education
Work Experience:
Desired
Keyboarding, computers, or filing experience or job equivalency.
Medical Assistant or job equivalency
Skills and Knowledge:
Required
Knowledge of business and use of medical terminology.
Ability to communicate with patients, family members, and staff.
