What's Available:
  • 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week)
  • Shift: Monday-Friday, Daytime hours
  • Department: NICU, Pediatrics, Peds PICU, Float Pool, ESO, Central Staffing
  • Location: La Crosse, WI (Main Campus Hospital)
What You Will Do:
  • Provide LOVE MEDICINE to our patients through providing the best first/last impressions with top-level customer service.
  • Partner with a team of providers, medical professionals, and managers who are here to support your success and that of our patients in their health journeys.

While we call La Crosse home, our system!Job Description:The Office Assistant is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support for management and staff in the department/unit. Provides a variety of clerical and computer support to the department. Works as part of a team and frequently acts as a liaison between department staff and internal/external customers. Assists in department projects as requested.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Provides customer service to internal/external customers by telephone, email, and in person. Work may involve problem solving, answering questions, coordinating services, and addressing other needs.
  • Performs clerical support in the assigned department/unit. Duties may include sorting and distributing mail, faxing, photocopying, collating materials, and directing phone calls.
  • Uses a variety of computer systems and applications in performing the work of the department/unit. Functions may include data entry and retrieval of information, preparing communication or correspondence, presentations, memos, requested reports/spreadsheets, meeting minutes, agendas, handouts, etc.
  • Coordinates schedules and maintains calendars for meetings, appointments, travel itineraries, etc. Duties may include rearranging schedules, finding meeting place, obtaining necessary equipment, and other related preparations.
  • Coordinates departmental educational opportunities and event planning as determined by management.
  • Provide clerical support using Kronos Scheduling and Timecard software in staff scheduling and in staff timecard editing and sign off procedures, under the direction of management.
  • Views, documents, or prints from the patients electronic health record to assist with coordination of patient care.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
