Gundersen Health System is seeking a full-time Radiologic Technologist. What You Will Do:Perform high quality radiographic exams and procedures to aide in:
  • Medical Diagnosis
  • Treatment
  • Prevention of Disease
What Will This Position Look Like:
  • 40 hours/week
  • 8-hour shifts
  • Start times flex between 630am and 900am
  • Every third weekend (3p-11p)
  • Back-up on-call 2-3 times per month
  • 2 holidays per year

It is who we are.Job Description:Performs high quality radiographic exams and procedures to aide in medical diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Works with Gundersen Health System patient and families to provide compassionate, individualized care in the provision of radiology services. Understands and applies the concepts of radiography when performing patient exams.
  • Demonstrates accurate knowledge of established protocols and equipment operation when performing exams on patients. Provides the best images possible to radiologists and providers for interpretation. Provides high quality service to customers in a cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Assumes responsibility to provide a quality learning environment for patients, their families, students and co-workers.
  • Responsible for attending staff meetings, inservices, and continuing education as required by the department.
  • Performs other job-related responsibilities as listed on the competency checklist and as requested by others.
  • Utilizes knowledge of regulatory compliance when working with patients and their associated charge.
  • Maintains confidentiality with others regarding patient and organizational information.
RequiredEducation and Learning:Post High School education in a specialized field: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
For those performing lab work, the following is also required:High School Diploma or equivalency
A copy of the applicant's/employee's diploma and/or transcript as confirmation of the education requirement must be provided at time of hire.
RequiredWork Experience:6 months Clinical experience in a Radiology Program
DESIRED
1 year experience working in a large hospital Radiology setting
RequiredLicense and Certifications:
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technology Registered Technologist-Radiography (ARRT)
  • Wisconsin employees must be a Licensed Radiographer with the State of Wisconsin (LICRAD-WI)
  • Iowa employees must have a Permit to Practice from the Iowa Department of Public Health (RADTECH-IA)
  • An employee taking x-rays on humans in Minnesota and who is not a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts or already certified to do so, must pass the ARRT Limited Scope X-ray Operator Exam. Those that passed the Minnesota X-ray Operator Exam prior to 1/1/2008, are grandfathered in and do not have to take this exam
  • Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands on learning) from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Age Specific Population Served:Infant (less than 1 year)
Pediatric (1 - 12 years)
Adolescent (13 - 17 years)
Adult (18 - 64 years)
Geriatric (65 years & older)
OSHA Category:Category I - All Employees in this job title have a reasonably anticipated risk of occupational exposure to blood and/or other potentially infectious materials.
Environmental Conditions:Exposed to infectious diseases.
Physical Requirements/Demands Of The Position:Sitting Rarely (1-5% or .5 hours)
Walking/Standing Occasionally (6-33% or 3 hours)
Stooping/Bending Rarely (1-5% or .5 hours)
Lifting - Other Frequently (34-66% or 5.5 hours)
