The Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a 460 bed facility providing services for short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, home care programs, an adult day health program, ventilator dependent care, palliative and hospice care, a new Memory Care Unit and on-site dialysis. The Gurwin Family of Services also includes the 201-apartment Gurwin Jewish : Fay J. Lindner assisted living community and the Fountaingate Gardens independent living community on the Commack campus.

Requirements:
- Licensed by the NYS Department of Education as a Respiratory Therapist and Registered (RRT) Preferred by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Candidate with 1-3 years of previous experience with mechanical ventilation and weaning procedures is preferred.
- Candidates must be able to make decisions within the scope of respiratory care and make appropriate recommendations as indicated to the responsible physician.
- Responsible for the respiratory care rendered to all residents. Follows policy and clinical procedures in respiratory care as ordered by the responsible physician.
- Knowledge of dementia population and dealing with related behaviors.
- Able to recognize when a resident is in pain and take appropriate actions.
- Provides short and/or long-term support of patients having increased chronic or acute respiratory difficulty by providing respiratory modalities, as per physician orders.
