Gwinnett/Walton Habitat for Humanity (Lawrenceville, Georgia) is seeking a full time (40 hours/week; Tuesday-Saturday workweek) residential construction professional to provide carpentry and other home-building services in accordance with Gwinnett/Walton Habitat’s mission and standards of excellence.
Qualified applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in new home construction or 4 years of equivalent work experience. Primary responsibilities include on-site/hands on carpentry and other construction tasks, maintaining tool trailers, procuring materials, working with volunteers, and other duties as assigned. Successful applicants will be leading crews on volunteer days, backing and pulling a variety of trailers, and complete unfinished work to stay on schedule. The Construction Assistant reports directly to the Construction Manager.
All applicants must be computer literate, able to use MS Word and Excel, attend OSHA, project management software, and other training as needed. Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills and be able to meet physical demands of job including ability to stand, bend, walk, climb ladders, and lift 50 pounds for long periods of time.
