Health Insurance Sales Assistant
Independent insurance agency seeking an experienced Health Insurance Sales Assistant with excellent communications skills and a commitment to helping others.
As a sales assistant, you will serve as a foundational support to the Individual Health, Medicare & Group Benefits branch of our agency. This position is instrumental in organizing client information, processing paperwork, and facilitating communication between clients and their insurance agents. Additional daily tasks may include: handling client transactions, answering clients' coverage-related questions, taking payments, issuing new business, processing endorsements, and problem-solving when necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain policyholder records in our agency management system
- Appointment setting for agents
- Prepare email lists for Constant Contact and update newsletters
- Prepare quotes and premium coverage comparisons
- Answer in-bound calls and build rapport with customers
- Assist with agent requests
- Work effectively and efficiently with other staff members
- Process billing information relative to invoicing
- Process endorsements, additions and cancellations in a timely manner
- Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by department manager and agency principal
Qualifications and Criteria
- Ability to interact and/or negotiate with all agency contacts, including: internal staff, clients, company underwriters, outside vendors and other professionals
- Computer skills – basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Applied Agency Management System (TAM)
- Responsible and productive both independently and with others
- Professional demeanor and appearance
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Team player and positive attitude
Education and Training
- Ohio Life, Accident & Health License
- Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree preferred

Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
