Summary

Team Member Medical Clinic – Nurse Practitioner (Primary Care)

Job Summary:

Practices medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center. Provides primary and urgent medical care to Moffitt’s team members, consistent with the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer.

Evaluates, manages, and treats of a wide spectrum of medical conditions and co-morbidities. Works within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of the supervising physician.

Position Highlights:

  • Provides primary and urgent care exclusively for Moffitt team members including the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients with various medical problems and co-morbidities.
  • This position is responsible for supporting patients in a primary care clinic setting that provides medical care for acute illnesses, chronic diseases, wellness initiatives, and manages injury care for the organization’s team members.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Clinical professional who demonstrates a passion for our mission, and who takes pride in delivering world-class patient care in a collaborative, learning environment.
  • The successful candidate will be a superior communicator, an engaged team member, and a knowledgeable, patient-focused provider.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in primary care is strongly preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with Occupational Health and Worker’s Compensation.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary care clinic that provides primary care, urgent care, and worker compensation injury for hospital employees.
  • Acts as a resource to support Occupational Health clinical processes and programs.
  • Correlates subjective and objective data to formulate a differential or working diagnosis.
  • Formulates treatment plans for medical conditions within scope of practice.
  • Prescribes oral, IM, SQ and IV medications when appropriate, within the scope of practice.
  • Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules.
