Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer is primarily responsible for the development of electrical design including lighting, power distribution, and fire alarm for a variety of clients through a design/build process as relates to distribution, manufacturing, and heavy industrial projects.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Normal and emergency power distribution system design.
• Lighting design for both interior and overall site.
• Fire alarm design.
• Electrical provisions for HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Produce electrical specifications.
• Work closely with other engineers, architects, and project managers.
• Understanding of NEC and other building codes at various locations throughout the US.

Electrical Engineer Requirements & Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Concentration
• 5 years experience working as an electrical engineer.
• Self-sufficiency in providing complete and total electrical design with support as needed.
• Experience in the Design/Build industry beneficial but not required.
• Registered Professional Engineer with Tennessee P.E. license or ability to obtain license.
• Experience with Revit for electrical drawing production.
• Familiarity with computer programs such as Visual Lighting, AGI, EDR, and AutoCAD a plus.
• Ability to multitask.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Motivation to succeed, seek excellence, and continually improve.
• Willing to travel to construction sites for inspections, punch lists, or meetings.
• Communicate in person, on the phone, and over e-mail with clients, vendors, contractors, and others as necessary.
