Summary of position:
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and execute action plans to meet Cost, Quality and Delivery Targets.
- Operates as negotiator in high value negotiations with major providers of MRO commodities.
- Achieve MRO spend related cost savings, cost avoidance, and free cash flow improvement targets.
- Process and execute purchase orders for maintenance and repair of equipment as well as calibration and repair of measurement equipment.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels of shop supplies, shipping supplies, and general machining tooling.
- Maintain adequate levels of non-production office supplies by re-ordering in a manner that will support the site while also being cost effective.
- Support yearly physical inventory by leading and executing pre-counts, support crib organization, order tagging and correct all label discrepancies.
- Maintain adequate level of raw materials needed for production but utilizing the MRP system and working closely with the production team to understand upcoming demand. This includes the purchase of all raw material, casting, and forgings.
- Manage monthly raw materials test samples and record results in log for auditing.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements.
Overall Duties
- Analyze proposals, negotiate best prices, and lead time, terms & conditions.
- Confirm, and maintain execution of all MRP requirements in a timely fashion.
- Prepare purchase orders - ensuring all required documentation accompanies P.O.
- Be familiar with MRP system and all elements pertaining to Procurement.
- Supports internal departments as needed.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualification
- High School degree or equivalent work experience required
- Five years of experience. Aerospace manufacturing a plus
- Competent in Microsoft Office and with MRP system(s)
- Ability to deal effectively with Suppliers and represent the company in a professional manner.
- This position requires good communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively work with others towards a common goal.
- Accuracy and able to pay close attention to detail.
- Good organizational and follow up skills.
- Working Under Pressure - Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations and to effectively multitask.
