Position Purpose
Manage and support Habitat homebuyers and homeowners in the homebuying and home selection process and post-closing. Provide homebuyers in process (HIPs) with relevant information by leveraging multiple platforms, events and activities while connecting HIPs to outside partners who have complementary, wrap-around services. While collaborating with HCR staff, volunteers, and community partners, this person will provide leadership and oversight to ensure families and individuals have an excellent homebuying experience. And, working to fulfill Habitat Charlotte Region's mission: Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
Essential Functions
Facilitate steady progress of Homebuyers-in-Process (HIPs) through the Homeownership Program by implementing effective processes and maintaining clear communication as it pertains to the following:
HIP Management and Support:
  • Support homebuyer engagement during the build process by sharing site supervisor contact information and build calendars with Homebuyers-In-Process (HIPs); maintain open communication with staff and Homebuyers- In-Process regarding attendance
  • Oversee HIP Hours Program and ensure steady progress to completion
  • Coordinate, prepare, and facilitate HIP Hours Introduction for newly approved Homebuyers in Process
  • Oversee HIP Hours Program and ensure steady progress to completion
  • Assist in the celebration and preparation of Homebuyers in Process as they near closing
  • Enter HIP hours in Salesforce tracking system
  • Actively refer HIPs to community partners for services related to furnishing their new homes.
HIP Education Classes & Workshops:
  • Oversee HIP class planning such as: scheduling classes, recruiting speakers/facilitators, and facilitating classes
  • Create class roster and track attendance
  • Assist Family Services Education Supervisor by facilitating class related to lot selection.
  • Oversee the production and distribution of quarterly Homeowner Newsletter.
  • Prepare and distribute class materials including class curriculum
Property Sales & Support:
  • Coordinate and conduct Lot Selection for families, including tracking the payment of the closing cost for each selected property.
  • Support homeowner engagement during the build process by sharing site supervisor contact information and build calendars with Homebuyers in Process; maintain open communication with staff and Homebuyers in Process regarding attendance
  • Coordinate open house events including new and existing home sales events and home dedications as needed for internal pipeline and MM$ graduates in coordination with the FS Education Team.
  • Promote and market HCR homes and neighborhood developments to prospective buyers and community partners to increase unit/parcel sales.
Event Planning & Management:
  • Provide direct supervision to the Family Services Event Specialist AmeriCorps member
  • Collaboratively coordinate periodic financial/educational workshops for existing Habitat homeowners with relevant staff as needed or required: Will Workshop | Senior Series | Focus on Future |Networking with Neighbors | Pay Off Meeting | Mortgage Burning Ceremony | Home Dedications (non-sponsored)
Qualifications

  • Real Estate Marketing and Sales experience preferred
  • Must obtain HFHI's Qualified Loan Originator Certification (ABA-Federal) within 90 days of employment which includes additional certification by the State of North Carolina
Work Environment
This position requires working indoors in an office setting, driving between locations within the service area in all types of weather, and visiting New Home and Existing Home sites in all types of weather. Driving throughout the HCR's service area in both personal vehicle and/or Habitat-fleet vehicles. Approximately 15% of time is spent travelling/driving in a vehicle.
Schedule
  • Tuesday-Saturday 8:00am-5:00pm (occasional evening and weekend hours required)
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift/pull up to 40lbs unassisted occasionally
  • Ability to visit construction sites at varied stages including completed homes that may have stairs
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle
  • Ability to communicate in person, over phone and/or computer
