Position Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to develop strong partnerships with clients and assist program participants in the application process for all programs offered by Habitat Detroit. This person will provide the clients with the best possible service and knowledge to enter into HFHD programs.

Qualifications:

· Preferred 2 years of applicable work experience or Associate’s degree in related filed

· Demonstrated experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher)

· Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with varied audience

· Strong administrative and organizational skills

· Ability to support English Language Learner clients with interpreters

· Goal-oriented, success driven, professional, outgoing and self-starting

· Demonstrate success in building relationships with culturally diverse groups of people

· Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Primary Duties:

· Under the supervision of the Programs Director and the Program Coordinator, the Intake Specialist will be responsible for being the primary point of contact for all programs offered by the affiliate

· They will conduct intake interviews, maintain records and files, assist with applications, and make referrals to appropriate programs both within the affiliate and to other social service agencies in Wayne County

· Answer phone calls, emails, and in person inquiries regarding available services

· Conduct repair intake appointments and assist with application process to other housing related programs

· Submit accurate reports according to deadlines

· Assist with agency events (Homebuyer in person classes, Home Dedications, etc.)

· Comply with grant requirements accordingly

· Works in collaboration with the Programs Director and Coordinator to help in successfully accomplishing affiliate goals

· Support the affiliate, your department, supervisor, and fellow staff when applicable

· Support and/or adhere to: HFHD Core Values, Employee Handbook, Strategic Plan, Affiliate Operations, Job Description and Job Goals

Some travel is required
