POSITION GOAL
The Assistant Teacher supports the Teacher in planning, implementing, and maintaining a nurturing and supportive educational program for participating children. The Assistant Teacher is the designated lead Head Start staff person at times during the day when the teacher is not present in the classroom.
WAGE AND SCHEDULE
Wage is $15.57 - $17.96 hourly depending on education and experience
All Assistant Teachers will need to obtain (if one hasn't already) their Child Development Associate Certification (CDA) within the first year of employment unless they have an Associates of Art Degree in Early Childhood or related degree. HACAP will help guide you in acquiring this certification and once you do your pay will increase to $17.96 per hour.
Schedule is Monday - Friday 9:30 am - 5:30 pm; Full Day/Full Year
