Job DetailsAs an integral part of the Global Medical Office leadership team, the VP, Corporate Medical Director strategically leads and drives value by serving donors, patients, and caregivers across health systems, ensuring the safe and appropriate use and benefits of Haemonetics products.
The VP, Corporate Medical Director will be involved in all strategic planning, roadmap, development, and decision-making at the highest level of the Hospital Business Unit as well as provide advice and guidance to the scientific, and engineering staff, drive publications, and participate in medical conferences.
The VP, Corporate Medical Director will also work with the product team leadership and assist in designing clinical trials and regulatory submissions. They are expected to develop an extended network of advisors and key opinion leaders to support the growth of the business.
Key priorities:
Accelerate the growth strategy, including further strategic acquisitions
Strengthen our medical footprint and relationships, particularly in electrophysiology (EP) and interventional cardiology (IC) spaces
Lead key medical processes and activities corporate-wide and with global responsibility
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Medical Affairs Leadership:
Lead the Medical Affairs function and visibly represent Haemonetics and its products in the field, including at national and international scientific conferences.
Build lasting relationships with experts in the field and actively engage with the clinical and scientific community.
Plan and drive educational activities at scientific conferences or other appropriate settings (incl. virtual), fostering medical education.
Manage medical information and off-label purchase requests and evaluate and manage investigator-initiated trial (IIT) proposals.
Medical Expertise:
Provide medical expert opinion, advice, and oversight for the Haemonetics product portfolio.
Conduct health risk assessments (HRA), review and approve clinical benefit-risk assessments (e.g., CRBA, CER) and other medical safety evaluations.
Collaborate closely with Scientific Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory,
Quality, Legal, and Commercial teams on medical matters
Field Insights and Strategy:
Generate valuable field insights on our products and their current and potential future use; conduct regular medical advisory board meetings.
Help inform overall product strategy and drive the medical strategy for key products and projects in close coordination with cross-functional partners (e.g., Marketing, Clinical Affairs, Scientific Affairs, R&D, Regulatory, Clinical Quality).
Identify, evaluate, and support business development opportunities.
Medical Oversight:
Review and approve clinical protocols and reports
Provide medical oversight of clinical trial execution, and conduct required medical monitoring.
Help build a reliable network of high-quality sites and investigators (focus on cardiology, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology)
Support documentation for regulatory submissions and filings
Requirements
Education
REQUIRED Advanced degree M.D.
Experience
REQUIRED Minimum 5 years of clinical and academic experience in relevant roles (someone who has practiced medicine in the area and made the transition into the industry)
REQUIRED Minimum 5 years (additional) industry experience in Medical/Clinical leadership roles Therapeutic area experience: Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology
Strongly Preferred Medical device industry experience
Physical Requirement
Will require up to 50-60% travel (primarily domestic US travel) including overnight.

Pay Transparency:
The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account, without limitation, the candidate's location, education, job-knowledge, skills, and experience in prior relevant roles. Incentives may also be provided as part of Haemonetics' employee compensation. For sales roles, employees will be eligible for sales incentive (i.e., commission) under the applicable plan terms. For non-sales roles, employees will be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, the target amount of which varies based on the applicable role, to be governed by the applicable plan terms. Employees may also be eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive plan, with eligibility and target amount dependent on the role.
In addition to compensation, the Company offers a competitive suite of benefits to its employees, including without limitation, a 401(k) with up to a 6% employer match and no vesting period, an employee stock purchase plan, "flexible time off" for salaried employees and, for hourly employees, accrual of three to five weeks' vacation annually (based on tenure), accrual of up to 64 hours (annually) of paid sick time, paid and/or floating holidays, parental leave, short- and long-term disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, and/or health and welfare benefits.
