Job SummaryThe Heating Operations Trainer is responsible for training and developing technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial heating and cooling systems, as well as related tanks and piping. Will also be responsible for overseeing and developing driver training programs that emphasize safe driving practices and best practices in the delivery of oil and propane. This role will focus on consistently improving skill development and customer engagement strategies.
The Heating Operations Trainer role is a dynamic role and will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization by helping to shape the learning experiences that drive success.
Essential Duties
  • Design a comprehensive technician training curriculum that cover installation procedures, routine maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting techniques specific to oil, propane, and air conditioning systems.
  • Create driver training that focuses on precise and efficient oil delivery procedures, while adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Partner with our Safety Team to continue to provide comprehensive driver training programs that emphasize safe driving practices and adherence to traffic laws and company policies.
  • Conduct hands-on demonstrations and create online modules that educate technicians on best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Monitor technician progress and proficiency through structured assessments and performance evaluations.
  • Identifies and develops formal on-the-job training plans for senior technicians to mentor and train employees effectively.
  • Conduct regular assessments and performance reviews to identify strengths, areas for improvement, and training needs.
  • Integrate customer service and communication training into technical programs to emphasize the importance of professionalism and client relations for all drivers and technicians.
  • Manages vendor relationships and trade school partnerships to facilitate ongoing technician education and certifications.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to conduct needs analysis and identify knowledge gaps within the organization. Collect feedback and data to inform the design of targeted learning solutions.
  • Utilize proven instructional design methodologies to create engaging, interactive, and outcome-focused learning materials. Adapt learning content to various formats, including e-learning modules, videos, and job aids.
  • Create and curate learning content, including presentations, quizzes, assessments, and multimedia elements to support different learning styles and preferences.

Technical Skills And Certifications
  • A minimum of five years of experience in oil and propane service industry.
  • MA/NH/ME oil burner service and propane licenses.
  • EPA 608 certificate preferred.
  • Clean MA/NH/ME driving record, CDL preferred.
  • Understanding of blueprints, plans, and manuals.
  • Some travel required to support our locations in Mass, NH and Maine.
Job EnvironmentOil and Propane Service generally requires the following duties to be performed, without restrictions: the ability to push or pull up to 150 pounds; bend; lift up to 100 pounds; kneel, squat, climb, stand, walk, sit, reach, drive, perform repetitive motions, and exercise fine motor skills. Hearing and vision must meet standards for state driver’s licensing. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
CompensationSalary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related qualifications. For the purpose of this role, the minimum salary opportunity is:
PAY $77,000 / year.
Salary: $77,000.00 - $90,000 per year
