We are seeking a proactive and experienced Client Account Manager to drive our sales and growth initiatives in natural hazard resilience consulting services. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of climate and/or seismic resilience consulting, strong business acumen, and a proven track record in business development and sales. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and expanding our client base in this critical and growing sector. You will be joining an existing team of leading climate scientists, engineers, planners, and emergency management professionals. This is a full-time position ideally located in one of our many offices . A virtual position will be considered for a highly qualified candidate.
Duties/ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will:
  • Market Analysis and Strategy Development:
  • Identify emerging trends, opportunities, and competitive dynamics in climate and seismic resilience consulting.
  • Work collaboratively with leadership and staff to develop and execute business development strategies to expand market share and achieve sales targets.
  • Develop a working understanding of Haley & Aldrich’s other consulting practice areas to actively support marketing resilience services to existing clients.
  • Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:
  • Identify and engage prospective clients for resilience consulting services in the public and private sector, from both our existing clients and new clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Customize resilience consulting solutions to meet client needs and ensure exceptional service delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Sales and Revenue Generation:
  • Lead the entire sales process from prospecting to closing deals, ensuring a robust and active sales pipeline to meet growth revenue targets.
  • Prepare and present compelling proposals, presentations, and bids to potential clients.
  • Secure contracts and agreements to maximize profitability while ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Collaboration and Team Leadership:
  • Work collaboratively with consulting, project management, and marketing teams to align business development activities with company goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team for resilience consulting services, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Industry Engagement and Thought Leadership:
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, associations, and networking events to enhance brand visibility and build professional relationships.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in climate and seismic resilience technologies and solutions.
  • Working with technical staff, marketing and sales professionals, contribute to thought leadership on climate and seismic resilience.
Skills/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA, MS) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in resilience consulting services or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully selling consulting services to address complex climate and seismic resilience client challenges.
  • Strong understanding of natural hazard resilience principles and their applications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and market opportunities and create new client relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies with experience in managing and developing teams.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet clients and attend industry events.

The salary range for this position in Costa Mesa, CA is $118,780 - $178,170 annually, San Diego, CA is $116,376 - $174,565 annually, San Jose, CA is $143,120 - $214,680 annually, Oakland, CA is $129,837 - $194,756 annually, Hayward, CA is $130,263 - $195,394 annually, Walnut Creek, CA is $129,222 - $193,833 annually, Denver, CO is $123,351 - $185,026 annually, New York City, NY is $142,996 - $214,494 annually, Rochester, NY is $110,233 - $165,350 annually, Honolulu, HI and Maui, HI is $105,708 - $158,563 annually, Seattle, WA is $101,616 - $185,307 annually, Spokane, WA is $101,616 - $152,424 annually, Vancouver, WA is $105799 - $158,698 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to ensure we are competitive in the current market. In Washington, this role is eligible to participate in the company’s discretionary bonus program. This role may be eligible to receive a sign-on bonus in Washington.
