We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager, Process Engineer to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated problem solver with highattention to detail, must be capable of understanding and accuratelyextrapolating technical data and information to solve problems and createtechnically accurate communications. Thisis an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and becomeinvolved in commercial-scale geothermal heating and cooling projects for abroad range of clients, along with other groundwater-related projects. This is a full-time position located in our Boston, MA office.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:

  • Manage the growing geothermal practice, including managing workload, practice financials, staffing and recruiting, and prioritizing investments in technical practice improvements and business development.
  • Provide senior-level technical review of data collection, synthesis, and analysis using approved procedures appropriate for their discipline.
  • Assist in identifying technical issues and approaches for evaluation for specific projects and for broader application in the practice.
  • Become familiar with local, state, and federal regulations applicable to geothermal heating and cooling.
  • Serve as Project Manager to track project budgets and schedules and provide mentoring to support staff involved in geothermal feasibility studies, field monitoring of drilling, pilot testing, geothermal exchanger installation, and sampling and analysis in connection with permitting, schematic design and detailed design development.
  • Support Construction Administration for the geothermal practice, including review of bids, submittals, practice questions and comments, and requests for information (RFIs).
  • Review and edit electronic and written documentation by others of project-related activities in the field and office.
  • Support the design development process, including preparing plans, details, specifications, and technical sections of project communications, work plans, and reports including interface with other technical disciplines supporting the built environment.
  • Perform work in accordance with company and client Health & Safety protocols.
  • Comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company Charter.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of Bachelor of science in civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering. Master's degree in engineering or engineering management preferred.
  • Minimum 10 year of engineering consulting experience, including subsurface investigations in fractured bedrock, field hydrological data collection, geothermal feasibility studies and design development.
  • Experience with geothermal feasibility studies and design development and closed-loop hydronic and open pumping system designs is a plus.
  • Massachusetts Professional Engineer license is required, or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with a proven track record of meeting project outcome targets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer Skills – Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in industry standard software; ArcGIS is a plus.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred but not required.
