Halff Associates has an immediate opening for a GIS Team Leader in our Water Resources group in the Austin, TX office. The ideal candidate will bring water resources focused GIS project management experience. The position will lead a team of GIS professionals while managing complex mapping and database development projects. The team works on projects and products for all Halff practices, but the bulk of the work includes FEMA and related flood risk deliverables. The desired candidate will be a trustworthy, team oriented, self-motivated, creative problem solver and proactive client manager.

Responsibilities include managing GIS Team and other project-related staff while also managing budgets, scopes and QAQC of projects. The team will lead and support various FEMA Risk MAP projects,

Including all mapping and Quality Assurance and Quality Control tasks. The position would manage staff workloads and lead GIS business development coordinating across the practice and office. This includes a solid understanding of the range and capabilities of the Esri environment and related GIS business solutions.

The person in this position will thrive in a fast-paced environment managing water resources projects and collaborating with staff and clients to provide support and deliverables. The position will need to be detail-oriented and responsible for overall program results. Excellent communication skills are necessary to lead communication with clients and staff on both technical details and larger concepts of project goals and context.
