About The RoleHPS is seeking to hire a full-time Legal Assistant/Receptionist in its Chicago office who has at least 5 years’ experience supporting litigation attorneys, ideally with a background in medical malpractice or healthcare law. The Legal Assistant/Receptionist will work under the supervision of the HR Director and HR Manager to assist all legal staff including our receptionist, legal assistants, paralegals, and other departments as necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Supports legal assistants with overflow work such as drafting and editing documents including correspondence, reports, discovery, pleadings, and subpoenas.
  • Assist with court filings, attorney time entry, making edits, proof-reading, trial prep, and limited dictation.
  • Act as a backup receptionist answering phones, greeting guests, log incoming faxes and deliveries. as needed (on a regular basis?).
  • Assist with other duties or projects as needed.
What You Will Need To Succeed
  • 5-7 years’ litigation experience required, preferably in medical malpractice or healthcare law
  • Minimum of high school degree, some college education desired.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Must have some litigation experience and satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and multitask are required.
