What we do and how we do it

The Hallmark Visitors Center (HVC) is a free exhibit space that shares the story of the Hallmark company. Kaleidoscope is a free art-making space for kids. The two sites represent and share Hallmark’s passion for enriching people’s lives by helping them connect, communicate, and create.

Located at Hallmark’s Headquarters in Crown Center, both sites are regularly open Tuesday – Saturday (as well as Sundays during the Christmas season), welcoming thousands of visitors annually: families, tourists, school and community groups, employee groups, business partners and affiliates, and Hallmark fans and customers.

In this role you will

• Welcome and introduce guests to the HVC or Kaleidoscope, share information, answer questions, and set expectations for their experience.
• Assist with front desk procedures, which include scanning reservation tickets, tracking attendance, and other visitor-service related tasks.
• In the HVC, monitor the exhibit floor and the HVC Shop.
• In Kaleidoscope, assist with studio set-up, clean-up, and restocking, as well as facilitate exploration and creativity during time in the art studio.

Basic Qualifications:

The following is required to be considered for this role: 

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Minimum experience of one year working in a public-facing role, such as customer service, hospitality, or an educational setting.
• Able to stand and walk around for extended periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• College degree 
• Able to effectively and positively engage and communicate with individuals and groups of various ages and backgrounds.
• Must be flexible and available to work various schedules throughout the year. (*Note: The Spring, Summer, and the Christmas season are peak times of the year when more shifts are needed / available. Other periods are generally less busy with fewer shifts.)

Additional Details:

• Available to work as needed, Tuesdays - Sundays:
  • Hallmark Visitors Center: 9:15 am – 4:15 pm
  • Kaleidoscope: 9:15 am - 3:45pm 

• Additional hours may be needed to cover holidays, seasonal, and special events

• This is an on-site, in-person position at the Hallmark Visitors Center, located at Hallmark’s Headquarters in the Crown Center area in downtown Kansas City.
• Relocation is not provided.
