In an increasingly complex regulatory landscape, the ability to navigate requirements and mitigate risks is a critical aspect of driving commercial strategies. This important new position will develop and lead compliance programs to support the continued growth and success of our Beauty/Personal Care and Industrial/Polymer businesses. Reporting to the General Counsel, key responsibilities will include:

• Provide leadership and continue to build a global high-performance team of 8 professionals, and leverage cross functional resources to strengthen internal capabilities in EH&S, Product Regulatory, and Quality Assurance.
• Partner with research & development and sales & marketing to include compliance requirements in the evaluation of new product development projects, weighing anticipated costs with revenue goals and projected ROI.
• Keep abreast of regulatory statues, legislative changes, and industry trends to update policies and procedures related to product compliance, workplace safety, and environmental requirements.
• Leverage understanding of world-wide chemical control and regulatory requirements to advise business leaders on issues that will impact the commercialization of new products, and handle escalated compliance issues from various team members.
• Identify, develop, and implement projects (including implementing additional software and information technology tools) to create efficient communications processes to facilitate quick, accurate and consistent responses.

The ideal candidate will have 15 years of progressive experience in the chemical industry with leadership roles in EH&S, global product regulations, and/or quality assurance. He or she should have broad regulatory knowledge that includes REACH, EPA and OSHA compliance; familiarity with third party and governmental certifications such as COSMOS, USDA Organic, RSPO, NaTrue; plus experience with the ACC and Responsible Care. Experience with ISO:9001, ISO:14001, SAP and ETQ Reliance is also valuable. Strong educational credentials in a related field such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Health & Safety, Toxicology, or Law are required.
