HALO Precision Diagnostics is Hiring a CT Tech Part Time Near Jacksonville, FL

Precision Imaging Centers is an Outpatient only facility. We value our team members and pride ourselves on having a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere for our staff and patients. You will be part of an expanding team as we grow throughout northeast Florida! We are now looking for an experienced CT Tech to work Part Time at our Jacksonville Beach location.
Position Overview:
CT Technologists utilize their communication, patient care and collaborative skills to interact with patients and other members of the imaging team. CT Technologists use computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. A CT scan Technologist must be able to accurately interpret a physician's scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. CT Technologists utilize their knowledge of anatomy, physiology and the principles of CT to safely and efficiently operate CT scanners, assisting in the diagnosis of disease and injury. Effective CT Technologists are patient advocates who display reflective, responsible practice and have strong problem solving and technical skills.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Takes patient medical history before an exam. (10%)
  • Correctly interpreting doctors' written scanning instructions. (10%)
  • Explaining procedures to patient in order to reduce anxiety and obtain patient cooperation to obtain a diagnostic exam. (10%)
  • Positions patient on exam table and using immobilization devices in order to obtain optimum views of specific areas of the body. (10%)
  • Set appropriate technical parameters, operate CT scanners and related equipment, and observe image data on computer monitors during scans. (30%)
  • Evaluate CT scans for technical quality and necessity of repeats. (10%)
  • Inject contrast media as required. (10%)
  • Performing regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner to prolong the life of the X-ray tubes. (10%)

Non-Essential Job Functions:

  • Remains up to date on developments and trends in CT imaging techniques, procedures, and equipment.
  • Participates in educational programs and meets National and State requirements for continuing education credits.
  • Works collaboratively with and Lead Technologist to ensure smooth, efficient patient flow and optimal utilization of CT scanner.
  • May oversee and instruct CT students within the department.
  • Ensures that there are an adequate number of supplies needed to preform daily CT.
  • Tech will perform daily visual inspection and daily ACR QA on scanner and components and relay any issues immediate to Lead.
Education Required:
  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technology school
  • Florida license in Radiography
  • ARRT certification in Computed Tomography
  • Experience in Venipuncture
  • BLS certification
  • Previous Related Work Experience Required (Minimum of 1 year)

  • Ability to follow direction and work well both independently and with other Technologists, Supervisors, Radiologists, patients and office staff.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the full scope of CT techniques and procedures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette.
  • Performs in tactful and professional manner.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Good problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • A sense of responsibility and a high degree of integrity.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of ill and injured people.
  • The ability to put people at ease.

Physical and Working Requirements of the Position:

  • Heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs. maximum, with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions.
Work Availability / Hours Required:
(standard, evenings, weekends, split shift, etc.)
Part Time, open availability to work Friday and Saturday is preferred, with the ability to work other shifts based on business need.
