Starting Salary: $20.00 per hour

Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification):
  • High school diploma or GED and 2 years of work related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Criminal Justice or related field and prior experience with Juvenile Court and with using the Ohio State Automated Child Welfare System (SACWIS)
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion experience.

  • Employees work indoors and are protected from weather conditions or contaminants, but not necessarily occasional temperature changes.
  • Subject to moderate degree of stress.
Job Duties:
  • Completes interviews of parents whose children are being referred for placement for the purpose of determining eligibility.
  • Conducts eligibility determinations for Title IV-E and enrolls youth in managed care provider programs.
  • Documents referrals for placement in JCMS, including, but not limited to, creating the referrals, documenting contacts with agencies regarding status of referrals and entering start and end dates in accordance with departmental polices.
  • Completes Individualized Child Care Agreements (ICCA) and forwards for signatures within required time frames.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with Intake Coordinators of contracted facilities.
  • Collects all necessary documents needed to implement referrals from Probation Officers once case has been approved for placement.
  • Coordinates timely transmission of information to placement facilities regarding youth being referred for placement.
  • Processes Interstate Compact paperwork for youth being placed in another state.
  • Provides documentation of all related activities and correspondence in JCMS.
  • Enters data into SACWIS in accordance with JFS and Probation Department guidelines regarding all case related activities;
  • This includes placement start dates, leaves and end dates, 10 day contacts, monthly visits by Probation Officers to youth in placement, family visits of youth in placement, case plans, semi-annual and annual case reviews.
  • Performs the job duties of the Intake Data Clerk in order to provide back up when short staffed (i.e. One Stop, Reception Desk coverage, maintaining supplies, file organization) and during lunch breaks.
  • Attends required and ongoing training related to SACWIS, JCMS, and other job-related functions to maintain knowledge of system updates and to ensure skills are developed and maintained as needed to preform duties efficiently and effectively.
  • Performs other duties as administratively assigned.
  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.

  • Must possess analytical skills/abilities, which include: Ability to perform basic mathematic calculations; Ability to identify and solve problems independently and/or suggest solutions.
  • Must possess clerical/administrative skills/abilities, which include: Ability to maintain file systems, perform general office practices.
  • Must possess computer/technical skills/abilities, which include: Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Windows (i.e. Word and Excel); Ability to use applicable databases (i.e. JCMS).
  • Must possess project/process management skills/abilities, which include: Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines and manage high level of detail.
  • Must possess written and oral communication skills/abilities, which include: Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with peers, supervisors and agency personnel; Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate with parents of youth within the Court's jurisdiction.
  • Must have knowledge of IV-E eligibility guidelines and ability to apply this knowledge effectively when making decisions.
