Overview

The EPP coordinator will utilize leadership, organization, and an understanding of adult learning, professional development, and the policies and rules that guide teacher licensing to lead HCS Pathways to Teaching Educator Preparation Program (EPP). The EPP coordinator will strategically recruit, develop, and retain high quality instructors and develop their instructional practices through a job-embedded licensure program.

Responsibilities

In coordination with department leadership, the EPP Coordinator will:

  • Maintain ongoing communication with multiple district and state-level leaders (educational licensure, CTE, etc.) as needed to support implementation and continuous improvement of the HCS EPP.
  • Maintain primary and secondary partnership agreements between partnering school district and the HCS EPP.
  • Facilitate regular steering committee meetings involving EPP stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain an annual calendar for HCS EPP class schedule.
  • Provide/Facilitate training and on-site coaching visits to all EPP participants (both internal and regional) as outlined in the HCS EPP proposal.
  • Provide onboarding for new EPP candidates including support for initial licensure application.
  • Provide onboarding for new administrators and teacher mentors to support EPP participants.
  • Maintain records related to EPP program implementation, outcomes, and, as required, for TDOE compliance and accreditation.
  • Establish and maintain agreements with vendors to provide curriculum, training, and resources related to the facilitation of the HCS EPP.
  • Provide director with annual budgetary request to support HCS EPP.
  • Coordinate with Teaching & Learning regarding support for instructors participating in the EPP.
  • Coordinate with other supervisory staff (internal and external) regarding EPP participant performance and/or necessary supports.
  • Coordinate with district leaders to explore and facilitate the strategic use and expansion of HCS EPP to support high-need and hard-to-staff areas.
  • Coordinate with TDOE staff in relation to ongoing program monitoring, specialty area applications, and approvals.
  • Collaborate with department director to supervise, manage, and evaluate a district-level team and provide oversight and professional development to school-level staff who help support HCS EPP efforts to ensure standards and effective practices are embedded in the day-to-day work. 
  • Work as part of the HCS Talent Acquisition team to implement and manage strategic recruitment and employee assistance programs.
  • Establish and maintain satisfactory, respectful working relationships within the District and with District partners.
  • Operates a motor vehicle to conduct various work activities.
  • Attends work as scheduled and arrives to work on time.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Complies with applicable district, state, and federal codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to the Teacher Code of Ethics as defined by Tennessee Law and Code of Professional Conduct as defined by Board Policy 5.6011.
  • Use computers and other technology to enter and access information related to essential job functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Attends meetings and training as required.
Qualifications

Knowledge/Education/Experience:

  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with teacher preparation and/or postsecondary level instruction/administration or related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
  • Valid Tennessee teaching license with appropriate administrative/supervisor endorsement preferred.
  • Prior experience recruiting and managing candidates in an academic/leadership program. Working knowledge related to school district operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Experience in developing and managing a robust quality assurance system (QAS).
  • Maintain a valid State issued driver license.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform all assigned work with a high degree of accuracy and with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to make sound professional judgments.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet browsers, and Google platforms.
  • Confident in data management.

Compensation:Salary is based on a combination of relevant education and experience.
