Tax Preparation Manager - Full Time / Direct Hire - Irvine, CA

One of our longest standing clients is a financial services firm based out of Woodland Hills. We are helping them find and hire their next full-time Tax Preparation Manager. This is an on-site role working out of the Irvine, CA office. If you are interested, please read on! This is a fantastic opportunity to really drive and lead the Tax Prep department for their entire organization.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee & manage department operations
• Directly manage Tax Prep personnel along with administrators and bookkeepers (department size is about 20 total)
• Collaborate with Team Leads & General Manager to deploy processes improvements
• Conduct thorough tax return reviews and coach Tax Preparers as needed
• Determine the best possible outcome for clients, when needed.
• Prepare a variety type of tax returns; Individual, Amended Returns, & Business Returns
• Approve complex/exceptional tax preparation services for the Sales Team
• Speak with/de-escalate clients if necessary
• Collaborate with other department leaders to achieve interdepartmental synchrony

Required Skills:

• CTEC Certified, Licensed Tax Preparer and is in good standing with the IRS
• Active CPA or EA license - PTIN / EFIN required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field - Bonus points for a Master's in a Tax related focus
• 8 Years of tax preparation experience
• 3 Years of office leadership experience
• Effective communication and client relations skills
• Ability to manage a large client base with deadlines, urgency, & prioritization management
