The Assistant Project Manager’s main responsibility is to support the Project Managers with day-to-day project management duties related to managing customer jobs and general office functions including, but not limited to, creating and processing documents, issuing commitments, ensuring subcontractor insurance compliance. This positionwill provide support in the management of the execution of projects in accordance with the Company’s project management processes. This includes assisting Project Managers in developing, prioritizing, and submitting plans, budget, and methodologies across a range of key projects, including complex and critical projects. This position will monitor progress and performance against the project plan, identify and resolve operational problems and minimize delays. This includes evaluating and authorizing changes that significantly impact the scope, budget, or timeline of a project. In addition, the Assistant Project Manager will help select and manage ongoing relationships with external contractors so that the Company receives high standards of service.
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree in construction field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
· Assists Project Managers as needed during any stage of a project with scheduling meetings; creating, completing, and proofing documents; and contacting and coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and project team.
· Assists Project Managers with the preparation and organization of the bidding process.
· Assists Project Managers and project team with project start up and organization.
· Works with Project Managers to issue, record, and file subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and ASIs.
· Runs various company reports such as utilization reports, affirmation of income reports, CompanyCam, etc.
· Coordinates project close-out documents.
· Supports the project management team with the daily flow of information.
· Oversees subcontractor insurance compliance with the third-party verification partner alongside the President.
· Regularly uses the printer and scanner as well as prints large scale drawings and assembles them accordingly.
· Assists the Project Manager(s)/field team in creating a submittal log that is paired with the construction schedule and assists the team in managing respective due dates.
· Generates subcontracts, tracks/issues owner and subcontractor change orders.
· Works with the project team to help create a conceptual schedule and works with Superintendent and Project Manager to convert to a working schedule and manages schedule throughout project.
· Ensures client satisfaction with honest and timely communication of schedule, change orders, and quality control.
· Understands project budgets, change orders, schedule, and quality control.
· Follows and enforces HSC safety rules and regulations.
· Develops strong relationships with subcontractors and gaining trust by being fair yet holding them accountable.
