Miles River Middle School is looking for a highly motivated, student-centered 6th grade English Language Arts teacher. Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of motivating students and helping them to become stronger readers, writers, and thinkers. We are seeking a candidate who can create thoughtful lessons that help students to develop key reading strategies as they navigate whole class texts, book club books, and independent reading selections. This candidate should be well read and feel comfortable supplementing core texts with additional readings.
In addition, we are looking for a teacher with a strong commitment to improving student writing by guiding students through all phases of the writing process. Overall, we are seeking a candidate who is flexible, comfortable working in a team setting, and interested in using technology to enhance student learning.
