The ideal candidate has strong manufacturing accounting and general business experience, is a detail-oriented problem solver and has experience managing accounting operations and acting as the trusted business advisor to the CEO and the Management Team. You will work directly for the CEO and will work side-by-side with the executive management team.
We are seeking applicants with a minimum of 8 – 10 years of experience in Accounting and a strong educational background. Both management and cost accounting experience is necessary. The candidate also needs to have experience with accounting or ERP software. Experience with overhead rates, bills of materials, perpetual inventory, financial modeling and budgeting is assumed. This full-time position is based in Salt Lake City, UT
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Staffing:
- Oversees the operations of the accounting department; Payables, Payroll, Receivables, Inventory, Fixed Assets, etc.
- Trains and develops accounting team to achieve company goals.
General Ledger / Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Review GAAP memoranda from our auditor and implement the required accounting treatment.
- Ensure journal entries are correctly prepared, documented, and posted.
- Prepare accurate and timely balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Perform budgeting, forecasting financial analysis, cash flow analysis.
- Provide guidance to management on the financial implications of business decisions.
Internal controls & Processes:
- Ensure proper preparation for all audits.
- Maintain, review and revise internal controls to ensure the safeguarding of assets and reliability of financial statements.
- Establish and monitor systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the company s value.
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Challenge and streamline accounting processes for accuracy and efficiency wherever possible.
- Help lead automation efforts within the accounting department and in the rest of the Company.
- Produce ad hoc reports and analyses as necessary.
- Participate in quarter-end board reporting activities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting. MBA desirable.
- Eight – ten years of accounting experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hands-on experience accounting for inventory in a manufacturing/assembly environment.
- A sense of curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Experience with all relevant areas of transactional accounting – Payroll, A/P, A/R, etc.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong GAAP expertise and prior demonstrated ability to conduct research when required.
- Experience using ODOO or equivalent ERP a plus.
- Mastery of Excel.

Salary Range:
- $125,000 - $150,000 , depending on qualifications
