Basic Funtion:

To exceed guest expectations at all times by projecting a positive image of the hotel through appearance, conduct and service.

Position Summary :

The number one priority of this position is guest satisfaction. You are the key to exceeding guests expectations through the reservation and sales process, check in and check out process, using proper telephone etiquette and basic telephone skills, addressing and handling guest comments and concerns, offering proper service and amenities of the hotel along with knowledge of area businesses and attractions, accurately balances daily cash and credit card transactions and has full knowledge of the hotels safety and emergency procedures. Must perform job with professionalism in a positive and friendly manner.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Utilizing a work order system, respond to property maintenance requests and prioritize the workload according to company policy or directives from the management team. 2. Establish and conduct routine or preventative maintenance on all qualifying property and equipment including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, building components, furniture and fixtures.

3. Act as a “Responsible Supervisor” (as defined by WI State Law) in the operation of the swimming pool and assume primary responsibility for the maintenance of the hotel’s swimming pools/spas.

4. Take regular inventory of commonly used parts or supplies as needed in the execution of daily responsibilities. Prepare requisitions, place orders and maintain par inventories for commonly used parts or supplies under fiscal guidelines establish by the hotel’s expense budget.

5. Constantly identify areas of maintenance concern, developing appropriate corrective action to prevent down time or property damage.

6. Complete all tasks and responsibilities with a sense of urgency encouraging that culture with all staff members.

7. Establish and maintain relationships with outside vendors to ensure the best quality and price on maintenance tools and supplies.

8. Assist in the record keeping responsibility for equipment or systems as required by the company or a government authority.

9. Establish and maintain relationships with outside contractors to ensure timely resolution of “out-of house” maintenance issues. Follow company policies relating to the selection of independent contractors.

10. Monitor department expense budget.

11. Adhere to established property communication procedures to ensure pertinent information is communicated to appropriate staff and departments.

12. Strengthen working relationships with other departments by regularly participating in management and interdepartmental staff meetings.

13. Monitor safety conditions and participate in safety training and emergency procedure drills as a permanent member of the Safety Committee.

14. Oversee hotel shuttle van routine maintenance and maintain a record of all service performed on the vehicle. Ensure shuttle van interior and exterior is cleaned on a regular basis.

15. Assist with driving hotel shuttle van when requested.

16. Remain “on call” for emergency maintenance problems during off-duty hours.

17. Maintain exterior landscaping on company property.
18. Assist with special projects when requested by the General Manager.

19. Learn all aspects of property operation in support of manager on duty (MOD) responsibilities.

20. Wear the proper uniforms at all times and require all Maintenance Associates to wear the proper uniform at all times.

21. Maintain proficiency in and knowledge of all hotel facilities, services and amenities, as well as the local area, to effectively assist guests.

22. Participate in on-going training related to the position to support professional development and enhance the services of the Maintenance Department. Specific work related certifications such as Certified Pool Operator will be required.

23. Contribute to a positive work climate and to the overall team effort of the company. 24. Shall perform other reasonable, related duties as assigned or requested.

7. Professional awareness of the guest - employee boundary. Maintains appropriate business relationship with guests and vendors of the hotel. Acts as a role model for all

staff members.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace

Special Requirements :

  • Requires fingering, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, hearing, sharpness of vision and good verbal skills. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular and continuing basis and remain standing for periods of continuous time up to 8 hours in length. Must exhibit well-paced mobility to visit various areas of the facility in keeping with the daily demands of the position.
