Job Summary:

This position provides timely and knowledgeable customer service to rental customers both over the phone and in person at the rental counter. The customer service rep maintains a thorough knowledge of Handyman’s rental inventory as well as company policies regarding sales and finance. This key position is primarily responsible for delivering the outstanding service our customers have come to associate with the Handyman brand.

Duties:

• Provides superior customer service, in person and over the phone
• Communicates clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers
• Files and retrieves relevant business documents; enters data into appropriate databases
• Processes rental and purchase transactions
• Helps to maintain exemplary inventory control
• Ensures showroom and storeroom cleanliness
• Participates in team meetings to stay up to date on new sales policies, strategies, and programs
• Takes detailed notes and passes along requests for additional information that may be beyond the scope of the employee’s knowledge
• Maintains a neat and clean personal appearance
• Maintains a professional and positive demeanor during all interactions with potential and current clients as well as coworkers
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager

Qualifications:

This position requires a proven positive attitude toward customers, coworkers, and work. A valid, insurable driver’s license is required. Basic customer service skills are necessary. The employee must be able to read, write, and understand English. Basic working knowledge of technology including computers, phones, and sales software is required. Must have the ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor while dealing with challenging customer service scenarios. Must have a clean, presentable appearance during work hours. Must be able to spend an eight-hour day in a busy office environment sitting, standing, and walking.

Work Schedules:

Our store is open from 7 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, and 8 AM to 12 PM on Saturdays. Customer Service Representatives usually work five 10-hour shifts per week. Employees must be available to work on Saturday.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
