Hanford Pharmaceuticals is Hiring a Technology Services Support Specialist Near Syracuse, NY

Scope of Position:

This position provides on-site support to users and assists with administering, maintaining, installing, and upgrading workstations, printers, applications, and network infrastructure under the guidance of the Manager of Technology Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant network, hardware, and software applications.
  • Work with internal customers on installation and maintenance of hardware and software, install new systems, conduct training, and implement upgrades as directed.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during system outages or periods of reduced performance.
  • Participate in ensuring information security including administration, identification and eradication of threats, and overall data protection.
  • Assist with installation, administration, maintenance, and upgrades of servers, network, and disaster recovery efforts.
  • Assist with the validation, installation, and maintenance of cGMP systems including records maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot end user hardware and software issues in person and remotely.
  • Perform preventive maintenance per established program.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures related to departmental functions.
  • Evaluate hardware and software systems and solutions.
  • Provide off-hours support including responding to calls/alarms. Provide coverage for other Technology Services personnel when required.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Maintain IT storage areas including monitoring inventory.
  • Participate in special projects as required or requested.
  • Comply with safety policies, SOPs, GMPs, and participate in associated training.

Required Education, Experience:

  • Two-year related degree or technical certification (CompTIA A or similar).
  • A candidate with a high school degree or GED will be considered with prior relatable work experience.
  • At least 1-3 years’ experience in an IT environment providing exceptional end-user support, preferably a regulated environment.
  • Experience in supporting a Microsoft environment including Windows 7 to 11, Microsoft Office 365, basic networking knowledge, Active Directory, and application support.
  • Experience with Windows Server Technologies (2019 )
  • Experience with corporate antivirus solutions and disaster recovery backup systems.
  • Experience with general networking concepts including switch administration and maintenance, VLAN’s.
  • Experience with FileMaker Pro databases is desirable.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment is desirable.
  • Experience maintaining Security Patches for Microsoft workstations and Servers.

  • Ability to communicate with internal and external customers in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
