Knight Chief Technology Officer Insurance

Los Angeles | Full Time Exempt | Onsite

Pay Range: $150,000- $250,000 Per Year. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be responsible for overseeing the technology strategy and direction of Knight Insurance. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in IT and insurance industry experience, capable of leading and managing our in-house IT team. The CTO will ensure that our technology infrastructure is aligned with our business goals, driving innovation and efficiency across all departments.

What you'll do as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO):

  • Technology Strategy and Vision: Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that supports Knight Insurance’s business objectives and enhances our competitive edge.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, manage, and mentor an in-house IT team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance, security, and scalability of our IT infrastructure, including cloud technologies, ensuring seamless operation and minimal downtime. Implement and manage cloud solutions to enhance flexibility and efficiency.
  • Innovation and Development: Drive technological innovation within the company, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing cutting-edge solutions.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards. Develop project plans, allocate resources, and monitor progress.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with technology vendors and service providers, ensuring cost-effective and reliable services. Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to meet organizational needs. Evaluate new vendors and technologies to enhance business operations.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices, maintaining the security and integrity of our systems and data. Develop and implement security policies and procedures to protect sensitive information. Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
  • Business Growth and IT Alignment: Align IT strategy with business goals to drive growth, improve efficiencies, and enhance customer experience.

Experience and Qualifications

What we look for in our Chief Technology Officer (CTO):

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the insurance industry preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing technology strategies.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, software development, and cybersecurity.
  • Background or experience with cloud technologies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Business acumen and the ability to align IT strategy with business objectives.
