Job Summary: Stock and maintain product for retail sale. Ensure compliance with all Catapult functions to include, but not limited to, Purchase Orders, inventory, cycle counts, special orders, inter-store transfers, etc. (see Catapult Competencies, attached.)

 Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Ensure compliance with all Catapult competencies which include, but are not limited to, purchase orders, inventory, cycle counts, special orders, inter-store transfers, etc.
2. Stock and rotate product according to standards to give a full, pleasing appearance on shelves and/or display cases/coolers/refrigerated units.
3. Reset sections to accommodate new products or to discontinue slower selling items that can no longer be sold.
4. Clean assigned areas to maintain safe and sanitary conditions including but not limited to cases, bins, tables, and coolers on a regularly scheduled basis.
5. Adhere to Merchandising pricing for all product.
6. Notify Price Coordinator about missing tags for authorized products.
7. Consult with Grocery Manager on planning and execution of job for assigned area.
8. Maintain high in-stock levels without excessive back stock (understand product movement).
9. May order product from suppliers based on available space, inventory on hand, customer demand or specials in consultation with Merchandising Manager or Category Merchandiser.
10. Possess an extensive knowledge of products, vendors, cooking and sales in accordance with standards for assigned area.
11. Is able to maintain operations of the department in the absence of the Grocery Manager. May direct the work of others on occasion.
12. Should have a basic knowledge of open book management; be able to talk knowledgably on shrink, purchases and margins as it pertain to the department.
13. Willingly train new department employees on grocery products, pairings and a variety of their uses and sourcing.
14. Act as product expert for members, shoppers, and employees.
15. Adhere to Co-op policies and procedures.
16. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years old.

Ability to provide customers a high level of service by responding quickly to customers, giving direct eye contact, listening carefully to customers’ requests, suggesting alternative products for those not available, and addressing any unresolved questions by taking name and phone number and ensuring follow up.

ServSafe certification is preferred, not required.

Attendance Requirements

Flexible hours, weekend and evening duty seven days a week.

Work Environment

Grocery sales floor, receiving area, prep and storage area, walk in freezer and/or cooler. Must be on feet and moving in department for entire shift.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. comfortably on a regular basis.

Standing for long periods, reaching, bending, lifting, twisting, grasping, cutting, and carrying.

Equipment

Baler, compactor, U Boats, conveyor, elevator, carving knives, label gun, lifting belt, and ice shovel.
