We are currently assisting our client, a private family office, with their search for an Estate Manager .
JOB SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate thrives in a culture of high standards, attention to detail, and flexibility. The position requires excellent interpersonal skills, a straightforward communication style, and the ability to reflect the family's values in every interaction.
The candidate must be extremely organized and obsessively attentive to details, demonstrating a high level of maturity, self-confidence, and exceptional intuition and judgment. Since this position involves working independently, the ideal candidate will be proactive and possess strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
The estate is located on an equestrian property. While equine experience is not required, basic knowledge of an equestrian facility is a plus.
This role will require evening and weekend work and confidentiality and discretion are of paramount importance.
Key Responsibilities:
The Estate Manager will be responsible for the management, maintenance, upkeep, and repair of the property. Typical tasks will include, but not be limited to:
  • Source, hire, schedule and manage household employees and contractors to ensure household needs are met.
  • Select contractors for the performance of construction, reconstruction, maintenance, and repair work.
  • Operate, maintain, and implement security measures, devices, and plans in cooperation with the client's security provider.
  • Manage an operating budget, including reviewing and approving all invoices as well as regular reporting.
  • Develop an overall plan for the maintenance of all buildings, structures, landscaping and grounds and the schedule for implementing that plan.
  • Maintain owner's vehicles and all other additional belongings on the property.
  • Make purchases and run errands.
  • Plan and manage events of all sizes.
  • Ensure guests staying at the property have a five-star hotel experience from arrival to departure.
  • Prepare for, and be on-call during, family visits.
  • This is a hands-on position. The Estate Manager is expected to lead by example and pitch in wherever needed.
Required Experience and Education:
  • Minimum 8 years working as Estate Manger combined with experience from the hospitality sector.
  • Construction project/management experience strongly preferred.
  • Five-star hotel management experience as well as extensive experience overseeing everything from small to very large events highly preferred.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Tech savvy and ability to work well as a team.
  • Must be highly proficient in all aspects of personal computing, including Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Experience with smart home systems. Crestron, Lutron, DMP, and Avigilon Cameras a plus.
  • Current driver's license required.
  • Successful completion of thorough background investigation and reference check.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
