Shelter Assistant
Full-time Position
Harbor House is seeking a qualified individual looking for a rewarding position assisting the Shelter Manager carry out the mission of the organization and the day-to-day operations of the Shelter facility. This position will work closely with the shelter management to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly administrative duties are completed along with being a backup to the kennel advocate.
Education & Training: A minimum of a high school diploma/GED with previous office work, clerical, ordering, and inventory experience is strongly preferred.
Other Job Requirements: The ideal candidate will have intermediate computer skills and strong organizational skills. Will need to be organized and able to handle numerous tasks when it comes to workload and pay attention to detail. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and is required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 65 pounds. May have contact with animals in the kennel-so the ideal candidate will be comfortable working with and around animals. Be able to work in a sitting or standing position for extended periods. Must possess a good driving record, pass a pre-employment drug and background screen, and attend a 3-day training to become CORE certified.
