HardHat Workforce Solutions is Hiring an Environmental Field Specialist (Solar Project) Near Missouri, MO

Position - Environmental Compliance Technician

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide environmental compliance support to the Project Team, overseeing Company and Contractor work activities, and coordinating with the Environmental Compliance Manager.
  • Oversee and audit implementation of the National Pollutant Elimination System (NPDES) Stormwater permit on the project site, including inspections, Best Management Practice (BMP) installation and maintenance, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) recordkeeping and updates.
  • Support Project Team during regulatory or third-party audits and coordinate with Environmental Compliance Manager to collect evidence and oversee corrective actions.
  • Document incidents, compliance findings, corrective actions, or opportunities for improvement in Procore Construction Management Software.
  • Conduct monthly Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) inspections, document in Procore, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Report to, and work with Corporate Environmental Compliance Manager regarding wildlife discoveries or problems. Implement, document, and oversee buffers and coordination with wildlife biologists as needed.
  • Regularly inspect the site to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and policies, document in Procore, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure that any potential sources of contamination, such as oil spills or chemical leaks, are managed and mitigated, and the waste is properly disposed.
  • Monitor sensitive resources on project location (wetlands and waterbodies, cultural historical resources, wildlife and habitat) throughout life of project for avoidance of all impacts.
  • Represent EHSQ by attending and/or coordinating meetings with internal teams, Customers, and Subcontractors to update and advise on environmental requirements and conditions for project. Generate reporting documentation as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned.
  • Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years of experience implementing environmental compliance requirements on construction projects.
  • Experience implementing and stormwater permits, plans, and BMPs.
  • Stormwater Inspector Certification preferred.
  • General knowledge of Federal Environmental Regulations (CWA, CAA, RCRA, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members, across departments, and with customers.
  • Experience in renewables construction preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Procore Project Management Software preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
