Hornbeam Insurance Company is a property and casualty insurance company formed in 2019 to sell extended warranties and services contracts. Hardscuffle, Inc. is the parent holding company. While insurance is the organization’s principal operation, like other insurance companies managing the investment portfolios that support the companies’ operations, is of equal importance.
The Senior Accountant position is a key contributor across a wide range of accounting areas including investments, revenue and expenses, and treasury. This position also assists in preparing quarterly and annual statements for regulatory filings. It frequently works and collaborates with senior management. Additionally, the Senior Accountant is looked to as a committed team member and model who not only benefits from but contributes to the organization’s excellent culture and work environment.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent training and experience, a minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, and experience with Excel. Additionally, the position requires strategic thinking, excellent problem solving skills, good judgment, planning and organizational skills, accuracy with attention to detail, strong relationship building and communication skills, and the desire and ability to work in a collaborative and team environment.
