About the Job
The PEN Assistant Manager will help lead a team of about 13-20 individuals in a 30,000 square foot facility in Harrisburg, PA. The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in maintaining world class pick, pack, and on-time delivery service to our thousands of customers in the southeast region of the US, including an extensive will-call customer base. This is a position for a strong leader that has a high comfort level with warehouse systems and procedures, a great work ethic, high expectations and energy level with no tolerance for poor work performance. This position is a hands-on position where the Assistant Manager will support order processing and cover various positions in the warehouse as needed on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily operation of the warehouse
- Pick, pack, and ship all orders which arrive before daily cutoff time
- Ensure high level of accuracy in picking and robust methods of packing
- Maintain a safe working environment with 100% compliance to all safety and environmental regulations, including 100% use of certified equipment operators with no exceptions
- Receive incoming material and store accurately in accordance with company procedures
- Work with on-site company Customer Service personnel to ensure a smooth and efficient will-call customer pickup process
- Maintain a clean and professional customer showroom with appropriate customer amenities
- Conduct daily cycle counts per existing procedures
- Cross-train employees and provide a working environment conducive to high morale and productivity
Job Requirements and Skills
- A minimum of 5 years of warehouse related experience is required
- A college degree is preferred but experience and attitude are more important
- Mature, responsible individual committed to attending work everyday
- Excellent English skills required; Spanish language skills is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to supervise, train, organize and prioritize work assignments and activities
- Ability to be hands on when required but must be able to make quick decisions and delegate
- Knowledge of shipping, receiving, storage and warehouse safety techniques
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. on a continual basis.
